This flavorful berbere beef burger appeals to the spice lover and the somewhat spicy-fearful, alike. Berbere spice, garlic and ginger meld to provide intrigue, and a dash of cream cheese on your bun complements the spice.
1.In a bowl, combine beef, egg, garlic, ginger and 1 tablespoon Berbere Spice.
2.Form into 4 patties. Set aside.
3.In a large skillet, sauté the onion in 2 tablespoons butter. Sprinkle with remaining berbere spice. Season to taste, with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate.
4.In the same skillet, cook patties in remaining butter to desired wellness. Season to taste, with salt and pepper. Remove from pan.
5.Place cut buns, face down in the same skillet, and let grill for about 2 minutes.
6.Set bottoms of buns on plates and spread with cream cheese.
7.Place patties on the buns, and top with onions slices and tomato. Add top bun, and serve!
