Spiced Roasted Chickpeas

These spiced roasted chickpeas are the perfect little snack when you need a little something during cocktail hour. These versatile legumes roast up nicely with Smith & Truslow Organic Southwest Spice blend, but are just as addicting with our Coriander-Cumin Spice blend, Cajun Spice, or Berbere Spice.


  • 1.Preheat oven to 400°F and set rack in the middle of your oven.
  • 2.Place chickpeas in a large bowl and toss with oil and spice until evenly coated.
  • 3.Spread chickpeas in an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until crisp, about 35 to 40 minutes, stirring about halfway through.
  • 4.Cool to room temperature, and serve.


  • 2 15-ounce cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), thoroughly drained and rinsed (about 3 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Smith & Truslow Organic Southwest Spice*
  • Fine sea salt, to taste
