Megan's Tomato Pasta Sauce

Tomatoes I think are incredibly malleable in any recipe. You can play w/ their acidity by adding fruity flavors like ginger & clove. Or of course you can lean into their richness w/ savory flavors like herbs or white pepper. Consider all the below seasonings as suggestions & stay creative!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 onion (white or yellow), diced

3 tablespoons Garlic Granulated

1 tablespoon Dried Basil

1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

1 teaspoon Cumin Ground

Sea salt & black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon butter
-
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
-
¼ cup stock
Directions
Heat olive oil in a pan on high heat until shiny.
Add onions & garlic. Stir until onions become translucent.
Add all seasonings & butter, reduce heat so as not to burn butter.
Add tomatoes & broth until desired consistency.
