Allspice is a trick question. People assume it's a blend — cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, all mixed together — because that's what it tastes like. It isn't. It's one berry, dried whole, doing the work of three spices without any help.
Comes from the Pimenta dioica tree, native to Jamaica. Shows up in Caribbean cooking, Middle Eastern cooking, and — less obviously — in the pumpkin pie you make every November without knowing allspice is half the reason it tastes right.
Certified organic. Nothing added. Tested the same as everything else.

Packaging note: This jar has a standard twist lid, not a shaker top.
