Organic Southwest Spice

Our taco seasoning, with nothing extra in it. Most taco seasoning packets bulk up with cornstarch, fillers and anticaking agents. This is just eight organic spices and sea salt: about 1 tablespoon seasons a pound of ground beef, chicken or turkey. Brown the meat, stir in the seasoning with a splash of water, and simmer for a few minutes.

Paprika for color, cumin and coriander doing the classic earthy-citrus pairing that shows up in nearly every Southwestern blend, garlic and oregano underneath, cayenne and red pepper flakes for layered heat instead of one flat burn.

Eight organic herbs and spices, plus sea salt: paprika, coriander seed, cumin, garlic, black pepper, oregano, cayenne, red pepper flakes, and sea salt.

Good on skirt steak for tacos, in a pot of black beans, rubbed onto ribs before the smoker.
