All about Paanch Phoran
Paanch Phoran (translating literally to five spice blend) is a blend of mustard, black caraway, cumin, fennel and fenugreek that results in nuanced flavor, with just the slightest hint of licorice from the fennel.

Indian - Paanch Phoran means “five spices.” It was originally used in Eastern India and Bangladesh as a rub for meats, or added to Indian stews, sprinkled on vegetables. It is a delicious addition to naan bread. And, we have found it works nicely on fish.
In response to concerns over food safety, many in the spice industry are taking measures to provide you with the information you seek. While testing has always been conducted, certificates of analysis (COAs) are now accompanying most products through the supply chain. COAs identify country of origin, certifications, best by dates, and information on product testing.
Our blends are produced in small batches, and each ingredient has its own COA. You can find information about each of the ingredients on our website.
